First off I bought two at the same time from bargaincell on this page and the two I received were different looking than the one in the picture.



- The plug is wider so the audio jack will not fit at the same time as the charger, basically you have to charge or listen to music, not both at the same time.



- The chargers are flaky you have to wiggle them around to just the right spot to make it work.



Once again this was the one from bargaincell so if you buy from another vendor on this page it may vary but their version is utter junk even for $5 shipped.

This thing cost me $0.42, but it was no bargain. If you use it to charge your iPod while you listen to it, your iPod will make a loud hissing sound. At least mine does. Maybe it's broken, but the shipping costs so much more than the product, I'll never know.

Apple's new generation of devices (the 3G iPhone, the 2nd gen iPod touch and the 4nd gen iPod nano) no longer support 12v FireWire style charging, they only support 5v USB style charging. This adaptor will not work on the above listed devices. Apple has been slowly dropping FireWire support from the iPods, so expect this to be the case will all future devices as well.

Though it did not function in the way i expected it to, it does indeed do what it is designed to. i misread the description believing that it lets you use the device to play your mp3 in the car, but it charges it. however, i have found it to be quite useful. it works like a charm

This turned out to be an excellent deal for a pretty cheap price! Everyone knows how much iPod related items are marked up these days, but this combo deal gives you both the wall charger and car charger for one cheap price! I would consider this a good charger for occasional use but I'm a little afraid to use it much with my 3GS.

When I have it plugged in and charging the phone, it makes a strange, high pitch whining sound through the iphone's speaker/headphone jack. I think I'll be getting a higher quality charger for when I want to leave the phone plugged in for extended periods of time. Also, the plastic plug is slightly wider than the apple chargers so if you have a case on your phone, it might be a tight fit. I have an iSkin Revo case and the rubber actually has to stretch a little to accommodate the plug.

While charging my iPhone with this car charger it became hot to the touch.

This does not happen when I charge it on my PC with the USB cable or with the Wall Charger that came with the phone.

I visited my local AT&T store with this issue. They recommended that I immediately discontinue using this charger because it has no power regulator to safely charge the battery. I was informed that using these types of chargers may shorten the lifespan of the battery, could cause it to fail entirely, and is not covered under warranty because this product is not recommended or approved for use with any iPhone by Apple or AT&T.

I can't believe how cheap, and by cheap I mean price, this charger is! You could easily spend $15 to $20 retail and this thing is only pennies? I was skeptical but after reading a few reviews i thought it wouldn't hurt to try since i bought this for fifty cents!? What could I lose? Well i got it and I was really surprised at the quality. There is a blue indicator light to show its charging and it even says... For iPhone 3GS. Feels sturdy and the cord does not feel like some cheap plastic cord, it actually feels nice. Works perfectly, no problems!! I should have bought 2. Just go BUY IT!!

I bought this A/C adapter for the iPod touch 2G, which I just picked up refurbished from Apple. I think you all know this already, but Apple no longer includes an A/C adapter with their iPods (so much different than my other 2G iPod -- my 2G original iPod! Which still works... but I have to use it as a boom box more than a portable music player. But anyway)



It feels light, and we're all conditioned into thinking light = cheap, but hey! It charges. A heavier A/C adapter would charge, too, but would it actually be any better?



I guess the only con about this product is that the plug is made predominantly of plastic and the handle for the connector is rather large. I don't know if this makes the plug any less durable, but all the other dock connectors I've seen were made from metal. If this plastic connector is just as durable as the metal dock connectors, then once again, this isn't a con; It'd be merely a perceived con.

I'm using this charger on my iPod Touch 2g with OS 3.0 and it works just fine. I have also used it to charge an iPod Nano 3g and 4g. It is not exactly rapid but it does the same job the USB cable does when charging. It's a bargain for the price and I'd buy one again when I need a charger for another location.

I bought this dual charger Scosche Dual USB Car Charger in hopes of powering my BB 8830 and the BlackBerry Remote Stereo Bluetooth Gateway (purchased on same order) which plugs into the aux port on my car stereo from one power outlet (the second one is for my TomTom). The 8830 won't charge but the bluetooth gateway does work. The gateway is great and the sound good but I'll have to work on getting power to my Blackberry some other way. I travel a lot and many of the rental cars now have these aux ports so I was hoping to leave one less device (iPod Touch - 1 Gen) home. The package says for Blackberry but every BB model is different so be warned when purchasing these chargers for BB.

I got one of these and tried it out yesterday, using a Belkin white home charger cable for my iPhone 3G. I didn't have a chance to try it for very long, but in just a few minutes the charge level went up 5 %. Previously i'd been using a Belkin "rapid" charger with a tortuously short tightly coiled connecting cable, horrible design, it's beyond me why they would make it so hard to use with a mobility device like an iPhone, like, i would like to see my GPS for example, but Belkin doesn't seem to think that is important.. Bad enough but then the 'rapid charger' also did not charge. It either held the level constant so that it didn't go down, but didn't charge so that if i got to where i was going and took my phone with me, i still had a low charge and my phone would die, or the level would actually go down. Belkin did not have a customer service phone number that i could find. so, i bought this dual charger and it works like a car charger is supposed to work. I can't tell you how happy and grateful i am. I work out of my car a lot and in the field, and i need the phone to be charged. Finally i can have that again.



The charger is solid and appears to be of good quality, well made. The length of it gives a little extension to make it easier to see and to reach while driving. It's very easy to use. Just straightforward.

I purchased 2 of the car chargers and they worked as advertised. I subsequently purchased a case for my iPhone, a "Skech" hard case. With the iPhone in it's case the connector will not clip fully home and so the iPhone won't charge. This case is compatible with the standard iPhone charger connector however.



The connector is going to need trimming in some way or I will have to buy a $20 car charger after all.
